There are nine stories in this book, the first, of course, being The Reckoning. With exh of the stories being 20 something pages it really doesn't give the author time to write what I would consider to be good erotica. I mean in that space can you really develop a character and then have the tantalizing pursuit and capture type of routine.

Nope you can't and it for that reason the reader finds himself into the 3rd or 4th apge and already the young girl is receiving discipline ..

I reckon it's knda ho hum unless you are into it and have a short attention span!

Clearly the best book of its kind, December 19, 2000

There are few books of this kind which are written with style, intelligence and a thorough knowledge of the subject to the degree of The Reckoning. It is a collection of short stories, some from the male and some the female perspective. Although the stories are set in the modern era there is a timeless quality to them so that lovers of the Victorian era books will take to it very well. It does not have the kind of self-indulgent, unbelievable fantasy drivel that is sadly so typical from male authors of this genre. You will not be rolling your eyes and saying "Oh brother!" here. Ms. Madison has done an excellent job including characters of all ages and walks of life and at the same time manages to breathe real life into each. Every situation is as believable as if the reader had experienced them in their own life. I highly recommend this book and feel that female readers will find it particularly accessible.

It is sad that this book is so hard to find. I have given away every copy I ever owned as gifts and regret it now. If it remains out of print it will be a true loss as it remains head and shoulders above most other books in its class.

I found this book to be very believable and tastefully done. I thoroughly enjoyed every story. Within the first week I read it several times before the impact even began to wear off.

It helped me to realize a lot about myself and the role this type of activity can play in the human mind and heart. I am not into senseless pain and punishment, but a "smarting backside" can have very positive effects if brought to that state by the right hand - as this book shows so well.

I will definitely be looking for other works by Ms. Madison. Salud!

I purchased Female Domination: Short Stories Volume 1 by Constance Pennington Smythe (God, I love that name!) and illustrated by the great Fem/Dom artist, Sardax, for only one reason--the first story in the collection, Cuckold Date. Being a writer of erotica, I'm always on the lookout for well-written stories that deal with Female Domination and cuckoldry. Unfortunately, these are very hard to come by. When I hear of a story in an anthology, I quickly buy the book and then cross my fingers, hoping that the story will live up to my expectations. Sometimes the stories do and sometimes they don't. In many ways it's a crapshoot. Cuckold Date by Lady Pennington definitely lived up to my expectations, which is why I'm doing a short review of this book. Well, I'm actually reviewing the short story, since that's the only one I was interested in reading for the moment, though that may change at a later date. So, keep in mind that my 5-star rating is based solely on the first story in the collection.

Cuckold Date deals with the lovely and very dominating Samantha, her submissive husband, Tedi, and her lover, Collin. Though Samantha has dominated her husband for quite a while, she has never cuckolded him. The time, however, has finally arrived for her to break her husband in and to get him use to another man being her lover. Since Collin is very much an alpha male, he eagerly looks forward to his role in the upcoming ritual of humiliation that Tedi must endure in order to prove his love and devotion to his wife. As a slave, Tedi has no choice but to accept whatever his wife wants to do, even if it involves having sexual intercourse with another man. Samantha and Collin certainly intend to put Ted through his paces. Part of this will involve the feminization of Tedi, so that he will be more agreeable to sexually submitting to whatever Collin demands of him. It isn't enough that Tedi has to deal with his wife having sex with a more handsome and potent man than he is, Tedi also has to be willing to do whatever Collin tells him, no matter how humiliating and disgusting the act may be. When the night finally arrives and his wife goes out on her date, Tedi learns the true meaning of submission and actually enjoys the pleasure he's forced to give to both parties.

Constance Pennington Smythe is a lovely, dominant female who writes from personal experience. This gives a sharper edge to her stories, making them more believable and sexually exciting for her readers and fans. Her writing is smooth and alluring, drawing the reader into her fiction like a black widow seducing her mate. That's what makes Cuckold Date such a fantastic read. The author actually seduces the reader with her words, using them to caress the psyche and to make the reader ache in his wanting to be her slave. If there's one thing I would ask of Lady Pennington, it's not to hold back as she does with Samantha and Collin preparing to finalize the act of cuckoldry. The reader wants to see them in his mind's eye as the lover satisfies her in ways her submissive husband has never been able to do, carrying his humiliation to the ultimate point. There can be nothing worse for a submissive husband than to hear his wife crying out in the throes of ecstasy as another man truly satisfies her. That will always take the husband into a deeper state of submission, knowing that a part of his spouse now belongs to someone else as does her love.

Though I haven't read the other short stories in this collection, I have looked at the intoxicating illustrations by Sardax and they capture the mood of the anthology perfectly as his art always does when displayed within a fictional work. Sardax is probably the finest artist of Female Domination to come along in the last twenty-five years. His drawings and paintings not only capture the sexual excitement of this particular lifestyle, but also the psychology and deep emotional impact that it has on the people involved. In fact, it wouldn't be wrong of me to say that Sardax is a master in his chosen field of endeavor.

All in all, I feel that I got my money's worth with the purchase of Female Domination: Short Stories Volume 1, even though I only wanted to read one story out of the collection. For me, the Cuckold Date was a winner that gets the juices flowing of anyone who's interested in Female Domination. I wrote several years ago that as the unusual lifestyle of Female Domination quickly spreads throughout the world, the desire for cuckoldry in the relationship soon follows. For a woman who dominates her husband, this is the next logical step in the evolution of a new type of marriage...a marriage with the woman in charge and the male catering to all of her needs.

Mistress ordered this book and while she was reading it, she kept looking up at me and smiled. A week after she finished it I was allowed to read it. Now I know why she was smiling. Very well written stories. Mistress reread the one about permanent chastity 3 times. After reading it I hope she hasn't gotten any ideas.
The art work is simply superb.
We enjoyed reading it, I think you will too.

Let me preface by saying that I am not very familiar with the practice of BDSM, and as such this collection of short stories was my first "formal" introduction to this genre of erotica. After reading these richly woven and beautifully told tales, though, I have to say I wouldn't be opposed to reading more stories in this vein.

I was first drawn to the collection by its promise of fairy tales reduced to their most primal origins. I love dark fantasy and twists on traditional folklore, so of course I gave this a shot. I was so impressed by what I found. All the stories are very different, but they are all very good in their own way. Some are just short snapshots (like the artsy Cinderella retake "Cinders") and others are deeply developed (like the amazing "The Last Mistress of the Chatelaine", which tells a dark, Slavic reboot of a Beauty and the Beast type of tale). Some of the stories are incredibly hot ("That Wicked Witchcraft", for example, whose story of a Hansel and Gretel inspired threesome definitely kept my attention) and some are just teasing (such as the Princess and the Pea interpretation, "The Princess and Peony"). The last story was easily my favorite (though "The Last Mistress of the Chatelaine" is a very, very close second); "Skin Deep" is a beautifully artistic rendition of Beauty and the Beast that is nothing like the damsel-in-distress tale we've come to expect.

What I liked most about these stories is that the sexual activity was always integrated well with the plot. This wasn't just your average fairy tale artificially injected with smut. Each story was thoughtful, sexy, and refreshingly full of emotion. I would love to see a sequel to this collection with other fairy tale reinterpretations!

Own up to it. You've seen the cover of this book or maybe flipped through a couple of the stories and you can barely contain the urge to get to the juicy stuff. Maybe you've already absorbed Hardy Haberman's original "The Family Jewels: A Guide to Male Genital Play and Torment" and were starving for more. But maybe you're not. Why, you may ask, do I want somebody to get anything remotely painful down there?!? I mean, they're a perfectly good set of testes and I happen to be quite attached to them, you say.

Good question. Perfectly reasonable, for that matter. After all, one does not want to go to the play party a baritone and come home a falsetto. The first SM book I can recall that used fiction as a way to approach the question of how do conduct a scene was John Warren's "Safe, Sane, Consensual and Fun". Much like that book, Haberman here recalls some of his favorite CBT (cock & ball "torture") scenes. Instead of laying it the how-to as he did in his first book, he uses a narrative style to share his experience with the reader while focusing on the details of what he (and any co-top) technically did in the scene. It's a good read but don't think that just because you read it you will know how to do CBT or anything else kinky safely. I'm still a big believer in learning from doing under expert guidance but books can give you basic information and help you determine if it's something you want to try.

I cannot deny that the book was well written from a grammatical standpoint, and that the scenes were realistically done. However this is not your typical "bdsm romance/erotic fiction" book. The scenes are quite graphic, and contain many kinks which a lot of readers would find objectionable, bathroom scenes, food depravation, hard-core bondage and punishment and degradation and humiliation. This book is not for the faint of heart, but for those readers who like their sexual fiction mixed with violence.

If you are looking for a little bit of romance in your bdsm books, you won't find it in this one.

I really thought the premise interesting with the on-line "Master" and "Slave" going beyond the computer, but it ended up just being a cautionary tale of be careful what you wish for.

I found the the guy really disgusting and mentally deranged. There was nothing appealing about him. Some of the sex scenes were hot, but so much of the book dealt more with depriving her of food to get her to obey and wearing her down to the point she'll do anything to be fed. I don't find that sexy or hot.

If you want your master/slave relationship with much more depth, read Obsession - Girl Abducted by Claire Thompson. It's a much more satisfying read.

Or red or just about any color you like! This book written by a "true tickling expert" details the fun that anyone can have by exploring the world of erotic tickling. The author describes erotic tickling as a "kink for the new millennium" and he may just be right. For some of us, it can be fun to tickle someone as a form of erotic activity. The book discusses topics like bondage and tickling, accessories you can use in tickling, different body parts and how sensitive they are to tickling, how to deal with problems when they come up, even a couple of "case histories." Best of all, the book is a quick read at just over 100 pages. I'm also looking for different things to try in lovemaking, and this book offers some intriguing ideas.

_Venus in Furs, a Novel: Letters of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch and Emilie Mataja_ by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch contains the both the story "Venus in Furs" and a selection of letters between Sacher-Masoch and budding writer, Emilie Mataja.

"Venus in Furs" is about a man who is obsessed with having his new mistress treat him like a slave. In particular, he wants her to become his ideal "venus in furs" and begs her to don furs and wield a whip against him. His desire to be treated as such is tested when she convinces him to sign an agreement to be her slave. The story is well-written, and one becomes drawn into the misery experienced by the man as his mistress becomes progressively more cruel.

The letters between Sacher- Masoch and Mataja show Sacher-Masoch's inability at times to separate his fiction from his real life. Sacher-Masoch speaks of his married life and encourages Mataja in her writing, but his professional encouragement is shot through with requests to meet Mataja so that he can be whipped by her while she is wearing fur.

Although there are certainly more graphically erotic examples present in current fiction, this book is a must read for those wanting to know why Sacher-Masoch's writings inspired Krafft-Ebing to create the term "masochism."

A well thought out erotic tale.

Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch's 'Venus In Furs', is interesting though eccentric, and perverse though compelling. Besieged in wonder and suspense, the love affair between characters: Severin von Kusiemski and Wanda von Dunajew, becomes a roller coaster ride of desire and emotion.

The obsessive fantasy to be enslaved and brutalized by the woman he loves becomes a cruel reality for poor old Severin. As beautiful Wanda slowly becomes thrilled and captivated by the notion of fulfilling her role in his fantasy, a role that previously made her shrug and laugh, she eventually transforms herself into the controlling dominatrix of Severin's dreams--by becoming more ideal at the sadomasochistic lifestyle than he had ever dreamed was possible. As Severin becomes the ever so content and happy slave, this tug-of-war between self-esteem and power begins to twist and turn with the innocent and deadly psychological games played out between the two.

Written more than a hundred years ago, this psychodrama of love, bound by the perverted desires of one and the demon lying dormant within the other, was tastefully and artfully done.
